Overview

PhotoPin ("we", "the app") is a GPS camera application that stamps photos with location data. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.

Information We Access

PhotoPin requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — To capture photos using your device camera. Photos are stored locally on your device only.
• Location (GPS) — To read your current GPS coordinates and reverse-geocode them into a human-readable address (street, district, state, PIN code). This data is stamped directly onto the captured photo.

How Location Data Is Used

When you open the app, your GPS location is fetched once. This location data is:

• Stamped onto the captured photo as a visible text overlay
• Included in the share text when you share the photo (address, district, state, PIN code, and a Google Maps link)

Location data is not sent to any server, analytics service, or third party by the app itself. When you choose to share a photo via WhatsApp or another app, the stamped image and text are sent through that third-party app according to its own privacy policy.

Data Storage

PhotoPin does not have any user accounts, databases, or cloud storage. All photos and data remain on your device:

• Captured photos are saved to your device gallery in a "PhotoPin" album
• Temporary files used during image processing are stored in the app's cache and may be cleared by the system at any time
• No data is backed up to any cloud service by the app

Third-Party Services

PhotoPin uses the following system-level services:

• Android Location Services / Google Play Services — To obtain GPS coordinates and enable the in-app GPS prompt. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Android Geocoder — To convert GPS coordinates into a readable address. This may use network connectivity when available.

The app does not include any analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Data Sharing

PhotoPin does not share any data automatically. Data is only shared when you explicitly tap the "Send on WhatsApp" or share button, which opens your device's share sheet. The content shared includes the stamped photo and a text message with location details.

Children's Privacy

PhotoPin is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Security

Since all data stays on your device and no data is transmitted to external servers, the security of your data depends on your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
